Towards a higher aesthetic.
We look at the thinking behind a form, as well as its appearance—and at the relationship between design and the lives it touches.
Hyparmuse creates space for design with an independent voice to be seen, understood and discussed. From objects and spaces to visual language and digital experiences, aesthetics can connect an idea with the world around it.
Explore our perspective
Image unavailableThought in the form. Meaning in the details.
Design can be quiet or expressive. We welcome work that makes its own choices, rather than simply following a familiar style.
An independent voice
Start with a clear observation or idea and develop a language of your own. A fresh perspective may come from a new form or a closer understanding of an everyday problem.
A coherent aesthetic
Let proportion, material, colour and detail serve the same intention. Aesthetics extend beyond an image to how a design is used, perceived and experienced.
A connection between idea and outcome
Explain what the design responds to and how your choices shaped the outcome. Show the decisions along the way and the relationship with people, surroundings and context.
Different disciplines. The same curiosity.
Materials and structures, spaces and daily life, visual narratives and digital interactions can all be starting points. We encourage depth within a discipline and connections across disciplines.
Our eight entry disciplines help locate the focus of a project without prescribing one aesthetic. Choose the primary discipline that best reflects the core of your work.
